CartoCan® liquid is a completely integrated aseptic packaging system. It consists of a can forming machine, a filling and sealing unit including pull-tab station (station for applying the tear-off tab) and all necessary consumables.

CartoCan® liquid – can forming machine
The CartoCan® liquid can forming machine is based on many years of experience in the design and manufacture of complex systems. The individual packaging components are formed and joined into a harmonious whole with the highest precision and performance.
It is characterized by the following features:
- Semi-automatic splicing stations to enable a quick change of material rolls
- Robust mechanical drives – guarantee a long and reliable production
- Flexibility – different can heights can be produced by exchanging tool sets
- Production of the complete can in one operation
Filling and sealing
Filling and sealing are decisive processes in production. The following features stand for maximum safety and performance:
- The pull tab is applied before the aseptic filling and capping machine
- The shelf life of the end product is up to 12 months at normal ambient temperature
- The can as well as the pull tab are sterilized with H2O2
- The can is flushed with nitrogen, thus reducing the O2 content in the can to a minimum
- Several stations ensure safe closing and sealing of the pull tab
- Automatic CIP and SIP process

The packaging material
HÖRAUF has a long tradition in the forming of cardboard composite materials into cups/containers for the food industry and food service.
The same technology forms the basis of the CartoCan® liquid production, which has been further developed to meet the needs of aseptic filling. HÖRAUF integrates the specially developed materials (multilayer barrier structures) into the CartoCan® liquid manufacturing process to finally obtain a hermetically sealed and visually appealing product. This makes it possible to guarantee high machine reliability and efficiency, combined with the typical HÖRAUF durability.
